Bloodwynd: Sometimes You Need Disco Space Wizard

I’m going to be honest right out of the gate: I had no idea who the hell Bloodwynd was when I picked this figure up. I saw a Red Platinum sticker and Martian Manhunter on the back and thought it was a solid pick.

Bloodwynd looks like a guy in a white outfit with a bunch of jewels, lights, or whatever the hell is going on there. Turns out he was, or maybe is, Martian Manhunter. I still don’t know. Honestly, I don’t really care. The figure is sweet!

Basically, he looks like a disco wizard version of J’onn J’onzz. The white suit stands out because most superhero figures lean dark, armored, or overly busy. I think the white-and-red look is pretty sick. Makes it pop on the wall. Disco Space Wizard sums it up.

The packaging helps a lot here too. Since this is a sealed review, the window box matters, and Bloodwynd displays really well inside it. You can see the figure clearly, and the Red Platinum sticker isn’t in the way of anything. Like I said, it looks good on a wall.

As far as what comes with him, this isn’t some loaded deluxe release. If you’re going to charge me $30 for this thing, give me something. I hate that shit! A head. Some hands. Something. Honestly, that part’s a ripoff. You get the standard standing disc thing and a card. Thanks for the stand, but the card’s shit, and they’ve been shit since after the first couple of waves when they still had some heft to them.

Sealed Judgment: I still barely know who Bloodwynd is, but I know I’m glad I picked him up. This is exactly the kind of random shit I like. You don’t always need Batman, Superman, or Spider-Man staring back at you. Sometimes you need Disco Space Wizard.
